es la abreviatura de disfunci\u00f3n craneomandibular. Se trata de un trastorno funcional causado por los dientes y los maxilares. Por regla general, los maxilares superior e inferior no encajan correctamente. Existen diferentes formas de posici\u00f3n incorrecta de los dientes y los maxilares. Lo que todas tienen en com\u00fan es que afectan al organismo y, por tanto, provocan un trastorno CMD, que puede ir acompa\u00f1ado de dolor en la ATM u otros dolores. Hay muchos otros s\u00edntomas de CMD (v\u00e9ase el diagrama).<\/p><p>\u00bfQui\u00e9n podr\u00eda pensar que, por ejemplo, un problema de o\u00eddo est\u00e1 relacionado con la mordida, o una erupci\u00f3n causada por el aumento de tensi\u00f3n en el cuero cabelludo debido a una mordida incorrecta? Es a\u00fan m\u00e1s dif\u00edcil imaginar que los problemas en los pies u otras zonas del cuerpo puedan deberse a una mordida incorrecta. La mordida suele estar implicada en trastornos de hombros, brazos y manos. Por eso puede ocurrir que, tras una terapia exitosa con f\u00e9rulas, correcci\u00f3n de la mordida u ortodoncia, el entumecimiento de las manos o un \"hombro congelado\" simplemente desaparezcan. Esto s\u00f3lo puede entenderse con un profundo conocimiento de la anatom\u00eda y las funciones corporales.
